Hilarious this happen to us last weekend. Fun times...
Although it didn't just jack up vms it also messed with physical 2008 servers as well, installing a new adapter and setting it to dhcp. -

hahaha. As far as I've seen, it seems it only effects the optional rollup, so as long as you just did normal updating, you should be fine.
