Does 1/2 the CCNA Data Center renew CCNA R&S?

Before the CCNA Data Center came out, passing any Associate level Cisco exam (except for ICND1 or ICND2) renewed all other associate level Cisco exams. Then the CCNA DC cert came long, which is split into 2 parts, just like the CCNA R&S is.

If you pass just one of the CCNA DC exams, but don't go on to pass the 2nd to get the full certification, do your associate level Cisco exams still renew? Has anyone passed one of the CCNA DC exams recently to verify?

As far as I know with CCNP that you can renew your CCNP with just one exam, for example you have CCNP R&S and you take one exam from CCNP Security, it would renew your CCNP R&S for 3 years. Which means that any CCNP is a professional exam and it will renew all professional exams. Same way with CCIE when you pass the lab once you just do the written every 2 years to renew it, as it is too considered an expert level exam. With that in mind, that would be the same for CCNA DC it is an associate level exam and any one of them will renew your R&S.

Yes. Passing either of the CCNA Data Center exams will also recertify you in CCNA Route and Switch.

    From the horse's mouth:
CCNA Routing and Switching certifications are valid for three years. To recertify, pass ONE of the following before the certification expiration date:

Pass any current Associate-level exam except for ICND1 exam

So you only need to pass one exam. It is not necessary to gain another certification.

    Thanks guys!
I saw that excerpt that OctalDump posted, but I just was't sure if it was outdated or not. Think I'll use that, instead of the CCNA Security to renew my CCNA RS.
