Hello All! Does anyone have any experience with Teksystems? I saw an ad. on Indeed for part-time evening work. They need technicians to help a client roll out their Toshiba Point-Of-Sales system. I applied and they offered me the job, which is only temporary evening work as I am already employed full-time during the day. I believe this is something I can add to my resume to give it a boost. If you have had experience with Teksystems, did you enjoy the work? Any information is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I've had projects with Teksystems here in NYC in the past. My personal experience has been good with them. Very good pay rates for my skillset. I can't speak for everyone though. Good luck.

I worked a contract for them here in Cincinnati, OH for month and it was great. Pay was nice and the recruiters I worked with were very helpful.

Yes I have worked some for them. There is good and bad with them like everyone else. I find they most place entry level in the areas I have been in. I had an inroad with them years ago to pick my students for all the little contract work in the area. Like a weekend desktop rollout or a small cable job things like that. My students got a ton of experience before graduating. One guy even got hired on perm for the help desk at one company then moved to security after 3 or 4 yrs with them. So they are decent I did a contract with them and loved getting expenses and checks by the week. That might life easier. They got kind of annoyed though when I refused to drive to New Orleans and work at a free clinic on a network after dark. Too dangerous and I value my life too much for that :) that was was years ago and I mean years ago. Like 10 or more.

The recruiter asked me what my current pay is and they just went with that; he sounded very eager as well. Sounds like this might be a good thing for me. I've been wanting to add addtional tech. work to my resume as I believe it'll make me more of a competitive, well-rounded candidate when I do decide to seek out employment elsewhere or a promotion.

Sounds like a great opportunity in that case. :D The recruiter was very eager as I had previously stated and he told me there are a bunch of companies that are looking for someone with my skill set and qualifications. He also said he wanted to build our relationship so if something full-time does come up with one of their clients, my options would be open. I let him know though that I am completely satisfied at my current place of employment. I'm glad I'll be able to gain the experience though, that's the main reason I'll be taking on the temp work.

Nothing wrong with pimping yourself out to get experience. You got to learn somewhere and why not do it while making money.

I have used them on both side. I had them find guys for me and I also worked for them. No problems from me. Recruiters are like car salesmen, you cant trust them.

The recruiters can be hit or miss. I had a positive experience with a recruiter who placed me at a temp job. But another recruiter that worked with that one used to send me temps at a previous job and he wouldn't be completely honest with my temps which led to some awkward and downright crappy situations.

I'm on contract right now with them doing a Dell project. Good experience so far and the pay rate is pretty good for an entry level position. No problems over here.

Was not a huge fan in my experience, but they are a big company and I would be willing to give it another go if offered.

Hello All! Does anyone have any experience with Teksystems?

I rather cut off my right hand than work for them again. The recruiter was a sleazy salesman type. The pay lousy and no benefits. I guess if you need to get some experience they are OK, but I wouldn't make a career working for them.

I work with them all the time, have worked a few contracts with them, actually currently working with them to possibly get a new job, direct hire, 25% pay bump if i get it too

So, in addition to temp work, they also do direct hires as well? Does direct hiring mean you're placed permanently with a particular company?..

I've worked with them in the past. And as some have said. They tend to have mostly entry level positions. And yes, they do direct hire, which means you wouldn't be on a contract, but would be working directly for the company you are being placed with, essentially that company would be paying Teksystems a finders fee. My experience with them was decent, just be very frank with them about what you are looking for, and always be honest if they present a job that you are completely uninterested in.
