    There are several factors that make the actual exam harder. For example, more questions, in a testing center for most of us, etc.....but assessments usually serve as an indicator of how ready you are for the exam which means they are broad.

    The real CEH is harder. With that being said, i'm going through the current assessment now, and it forces you to think conceptually. For example, you should understand how a TCP connect scan works. You can go over the multiple threads here and study what people are saying. When I took the exam there wasn't any simulations, but imagine how much more difficult it would be with some red team/blue team practical stuff.
