CISA & ISACA membership ?s / Q&A w/Explanations manual?

coffeeisgoodcoffeeisgood Member Posts: 136 ■■■□□□□□□□
Passed the CISSP in May on the 1st attempt, I plan now sitting for the CISA Sept 10th

I have not registered yet & looks like I have till Friday July 22nd to give them my money.

Questions

1. Does it make sense (or cents) to get a membership to ISACA before signing up for the exam or buying any of the official study material?
(I think there is a cost benefit by doing this but someone hit me over the head with a clear yes/no this is what I did & why)

2. study material

The official ISACA CISA Review Manual, 26th Edition for sure
but the Amazon price is cheaper than order direct special member price? (huh?)
https://www.amazon.com/CISA-Review-Manual-26th-ISACA/dp/1604203676/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1467734786&sr=8-1&keywords=cisa
(a few dollars is a few dollars & I already have Amazon Prime)

3. How many found this additional QA w/ explanations manual helpful? (I am on the fence on purchasing it)

CISA Review Questions, Answers & Explanations Manual, 11th Edition 11th Edition

https://www.amazon.com/Review-Questions-Answers-Explanations-Manual/dp/1604203684/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1467734786&sr=8-4&keywords=cisa

4.Thoughts on the CBT Nuggets for the CISA ?
https://www.cbtnuggets.com/it-training/isaca-cisa-certification
free 7 days, not sure the cost after that

5. other study tips? tools used?

    I have read the threads.

The only answer from the threads here I have seen is the Q&A w/ explanations really filled with questions that were nothing like the test. Sounds similar to the CISSP study material...

The most common comment about the CISA test is "went in confident & prepared but after the exam I have no idea if I passed or failed."

    OK.
    1. Become a member the test is cheaper when you are.
    2. All you need to pass the test is ISACA official material. Review manual & Q&A Database
    3. Use other study materials if you feel necessary but remember Isaca stuff is the ultimate source
    4. Keep doing Q&A until you are averaging around 80% consistently without memorising stuff.

--- again ive just repeated all what have been said before.- Good luck mate.
