So this is probably one of the most common posts on the board... and my first as well! This site rocks!

Anyways, I'm fairly stressed over taking this test. I have been working on computers 'in the field' for about 3 years. I can build, tear down, etc... pc's pretty easily. I have taken the practice test here, and the ones that came with the Mike Meyers book that I had picked up from Amazon. I think the tests that came with it were from 'total seminars' or somethign like that.

Anyways, I generally pass my practice tests pretty easily. I guess I'm a bit worried that the practice tests are 'soft' compared to the actual exam.

I guess I'm just worried about how many socket, bus width, IRQ, I/O type questions are on the test? All those tricky numbers! icon_eek.gif

have you downloaded a copy of the objectives and checked the things you know and don't know?

sounds like you have pre-exam nerves to me, i'm sure you'll be fine at the exam. concentrate your study on some of the things you don't know as well as others. and don't panic ;)

I passed. I ended up scoring an 892. I felt pretty ripped off though. The stuff that I spent hours studying for, wasn't even on the test! Guess I just got lucky maybe.

Now to take my Core OS test...

    Congrats!

I've heard a lot of people say that, and I agree that 20-30 questions are not 'fair' compared to te amount of material you have to learn. But, hey they'll soon be going back to traditional format (not adaptive)... when do you plan on taking your OS?

Soon I hope so I can get in before the format switch.

I was pretty pleased with taking the test. Didn't take very long at all. Almost took longer to fill out the survey than it did to take the test. I'm sure I missed some questions, but that isn't that important now... icon_smile.gif

Ditto here. Felt very cheated for all the studying and so few questions (I had NOT A SINGLE IRQ or I/O ADDRESS!). Kinda makes A+ certification seem kinda cheap. My perspective employers don't have to know how short the test was.
I'm not a complete idiot... some parts are missing.
