MCSA: Security+Messaging Question
ja5983
Hey guys, havent been here for a while!
I just finished my 70-290 and 70-291. I also have my security+. So if i was to take my 70-270, I would automatically be a MCSA:Security correct? also, I would only need one test to be MCSA:Security+Messaging right?

You would need exam 270, and then one more security specialization exam, 299, 227, or 350 for MCSA 2003+Sec. Then for +Mess, you would need 284 for that, and then have both.

ricka,
i thought that sec+ took the place of the security specialization exam?

It does, but to get MCSA:Security you have to take two security exams, so you have one more to do.

To complete your basic MCSA you need 70-270 to go along with 70-290,70-291 and Security+. Also you have to tell Microsoft about the Security+ or it won't show on your transcripts. To get the MCSA:Security you would also need to complete 70-299.
To get a better understanding of what is needed logon to the MCP site with your credentials and use the certification planner.
