Moving to Denver. Need some tips and advice.

Hi everyone, I am moving to Denver at the end of September or beginning of October.

I was wondering if anyone could provide advice on which areas to live in for potential jobs.

What is the job market like? In FL, its all recruiters and a terrible market. Plenty of job searches show many larger companies and many more positions in Denver.

Can someone connect me with reliable recruiters or anyone hiring?

What should I expect when job hunting from another state?

About me: I am currently doing Sys Admin work with desktop support mixed in. I would really like to get into a more network focused NOC type position or other Net Admin role. I am a week away from 70-410. my LinkedIn

I am worried that I will fulfill most of the job requirements, but will apply anyways.

Doe anyone have any similar success stories to share?

Anywhere near the Denver Tech Center would be a good choice. Just know, traffic will suck. (I didn't live in Denver, but I traveled there often for work and spent most of my time in the Tech Center (Greenwood Village area) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Denver_Technological_Center

And last I knew, it was a pretty good market there and definitely growing. And if you are coming from Miami, be prepared to buy lots of winter clothes and learn how to drive in snow.

I am originally from New York City so the three things that don't phase me are 1) Cost of Living and 2)Traffic 3)Snow

Does Denver generally feel safe? I've had my fair share of high crime sketchy area.

Like any city, there will be bad areas. In the burbs I've never felt unsafe, just assess the area you are in and if it feels sketchy bail.

COL isn't bad there, so no worries on that end, yes things are creeping up, but all in all its a very affordable city to live in. If you are in the burbs, you should be just fine.

Most areas are pretty decent to live other than North Aurora. Even then, I've walked around there plenty of times and it's not that bad (I just wouldn't live there). It feels like a fairly safe city.

As mentioned, the DTC area is usually pretty good for jobs. That's where I work now.

Cisco Inferno Denver is booming with jobs. But get ready for the cold I was born and raised in south Florida so it was a huge weather change and culture change. Like most said the best job market area is the DTC my last two jobs have been here and there are always thousands of open positions.
I personally live in south east aurora its a decent area. also check the downtown Denver area

I moved to Denver from the DC area about 6 months ago (didn't change jobs, though). It does seem that the southern suburbs probably have the best options for the types of companies I am looking at (security vendors, security consulting firms and anything in the financial sector). But there are opportunities all over.
