Colorado Springs: Entry level IT salaries?

Does anyone have any information about current pay rates in Colorado Springs? I've got a year of IT experience on the resume, so I'll be looking at lower level positions. I see tons of job listings, but no salaries. Based on the constant posting of jobs, I'd say they're desperate for people.
I have CCNA and Sec+ and have had a security clearance in the past (expired now), so I'm looking at the gov't/contractor jobs. Payscale indicates a 39k median pay with 1 year of experience for a generic "tech support" position, but I don't see a way to separate clearance jobs from call center jobs.
I'm basically trying to figure out if it's worth dealing with a 24x7 mission and the uncertainty of the contractor lifestyle or if I should just go with a different field. Any helpful comments are greatly appreciated.
