MCDST question

well, ive been thinking about what certification to try and earn next.
and i never knew what the MCDST really was. but then i looked into it, and it seems maybe like the one i should go for next.
if i get this cert, will that make me a MCP as well?
and is this cert good for getting a entry level job in the IT field such as a service technician or something equally entry level? like a help desk person??

When you pass either MCDST exam you earn the MCP status. I got my first IT position (help desk) after earning my MCDST as that is one of the areas it is intended for.
For study material I used the Exam Cram books, but I hated the exam cram book for the 272 exam. I thought it was not a good source. A good source for the 271 exam is the 270 technotes on this site. Covers a lot of the general material and gives you a jump start for 270.
