IT Manager looking for work!

So, I am a victim of a company lay off in OKC. I am in the market for another IT Manager role, perhaps a IT Director role. I have two young kids that aren't old enough to be in school yet, so I'm ready to move. If anyone knows of any positions, please please let me know! I would really like to move somewhere like Denver, CO. However, at this point, anywhere is good with me!

The vast majority of the Managers of IT I've had didn't have 1 IT certification. So I wouldn't make assumptions or give validity to a cert making someone IT Manager worthy on its own.

Let's see; I haven't seen on this website in a while, so my certifications aren't up-to-date. I have a bachelors degree in computer science. I have CompTIA A+, Network+, and security+. I have CCENT, CCNA, CCNA Security. CCNP route exam is complete. I also have ITIL certification. Oh, and around 15+ years experience as a network engineer, sr systems administrator/engineer and around 7+ years experience as a Sr level manager. I have a lot of experience with SOX compliance.

Possibly. Has the LTE connectivity improved there? Last time I was there it wasn't so good. Though, that's not a game changer for me

Time to head south to Dallas TX. There are a ton of companies hiring here. Great cost of living and good wages. Plus some of the top rated schools in the countries. That is why I am here.

I've lived here for 24 years. The way the cost of living is going, I may not be able to afford it in a few years. Maybe I'll move to Corpus Christi or Galveston when I retire. Then all I'll have to worry about are the hurricanes.

This is very true, but the cost of living can be rough if you're just starting out (like I was at the time!). I re-located to the Raleigh-Durham area, where the weather may not as nice as San Diego, but the job market is amazing and the cost of living / quality of life combination can't be beat, either!
