Submitted my application and cover letter to HR.
Trying to cement my opportunity of getting an interview.
Thinking of sending a letter of interest, to the department head.
Wondering if this could back fire? Good Idea? Bad Idea?

I would say if it says send the letter to HR do so, but nothing to stop you from also sending it to a Department head.WIP:
