Passed VCA6-DCV Exam
Hello Everybody,
Today I have passed VCA6-DCV Exam with 400 points. I prepare this exam by using VMware fundamental Course, VMware practice test, and a book VCA-DCV Study guide by Robert Schimdt and Dane Charlton.

Guys, please shed some light into the VCA6-DCV certification. What's the point in this certification if it's not the part of prerequisites for VCP6-DCV?Best, sacredboy! -

It's better than having no VMware certification at all, and has the lowest barrier to entry.
That's about it, in my opinion.VCP2 / VCP3 / VCP4 / VCP5 / VCAP4-DCA / VCI / vExpert 2010-2012

There is online training available from VMware when you sign up. It's about 3 hours of material I believe. -

As scott28tt said, VCA is better than no certs. Also I understand some people to go for VCA because VCP-DCV require a mandatory course, and it can get expensive (tuiton, travel, expense..) and not everybody can pursue it for this reason.
Also if you are working for a VMware Partner, don't forget to use the Partner University. There is a ton of free training and you can get a few certs like VMware Sales Pro (VSP) and VMware Technical Sales Pro (VTSP). OK, the VSP is almost useless for a technical guy, but the VTSP is very interesting. -
