Just wondering if any legitimate companies have ever contacted you from posting your resume?
It seems people have gotten some interest from LinkedIn, but it seems LinkedIn is a different beast all together.

networker050184 Mod Posts: 11,962 ModYes I've been contacted and took a job from posting my resume on job boards. I get way too much crap these days though so not really worth it.An expert is a man who has made all the mistakes which can be made.

MJK9550 Member Posts: 160I've had good luck on those sites, that's how I got my first IT job. I get calls pretty regularly any time I put my resume back up there. dice.com and monster.com are two good ones as well.

Russell77 Member Posts: 161I have had legitimate contacts from linked in as well as indeed. If you are looking for a new position there is no harm because you never know where your next opportunity will come from.

Not what I was asking in the original post. I know people get jobs from Indeed, yet did you get your job from posting your resume on indeed and someone else contacted you.... -
DatabaseHead Member Posts: 2,754 ■■■■■■■■■■A few but not as many as you think, mainly contracts. Just guessing ~90% of the time it's short term contracts or 6 month right to hire for mid sized companies. Maybe once or twice I was contact directly from a talent acquisition from a "real" company.
Where I have been contacted for direct hire positions mainly, such as Mastercard, Centene, RGA, AT&T and Verizon was from LinkedIn. I proactively link in with as many of these recruiters as I can. The one's who actually work for the company not the 3rd party types. -
koz24 Member Posts: 766 ■■■■□□□□□□I have been contacted plenty of times but have not had it lead anywhere yet. I don't mind talking to recruiters so I don't mind them calling. I just state that I'm looking for full-time work (no contracts, sorry, I hate jumping every 6-12months). And I state my salary demands right away, so we don't waste any time. Usually the conversations end there--if they're not in my ballpark then we're not even having a conversation.

beads Member Posts: 1,533 ■■■■■■■■■□I'll post my resume. A fresh one on one of the aggregate job boards with YOUR phone number. You can dodge recruiters for me. Particularly those help desk/support desk and SAS calls. I'll give you the salary information and if it sounds good you can forward the lead to me and I will decide whether or not to follow up. Actually, for the right person this would be a good job - phone screening but still. Let me mull this idea over as I know I am not the only one with this problem. - b/eads

mbarrett Member Posts: 397 ■■■□□□□□□□I've got some hits off of Indeed. I'm constantly getting calls from Indian recruiters about jobs, usually contract stuff out of state. I haven't got many recently, though (fingers crossed.) Maybe I got lucky & removed myself from the correct list.
