Upgrading from NT 4.0 to XP?

Which service pack is reqiured when upgrading from Windows NT 4.0 to XP?
I have read two different books, one says that SP5 is needed, the other says that I must have SP6. Which one is correct?

To upgrade from Win NT 4.0 to Win XP Pro, it requires SP 4 or greater.

I do not think the SP matters.

Microsoft says that the version of XP needs to be Professional.

NT 4 to XP Home is not an option.

Upgrading from Windows NT 4 to XP requires SP 6 on NT 4.
