Hi guys,
I've been here since I decided to choose IT as my career. After having worked as technician for a computer shop, I jumped to a large telco as call center support. Everyday all I need to do is bringing up some tools to check lines and modems which are very boring. The best I can do is remore control and change wifi password or channel.
I'm thinking if I'm going the right path. Because dealing customers is hard, especially angry customers who has no internet, secondly I'm feeling I'm leaving the techie path. I'm more interested in Server end, of course networking is fun too. Just wondering what I should do next? Going with Telco or other ways?

ISP engineer here, don`t worry the ISP/Carrier world is where its at. You need to get a NOC job within your current company and come out of the call centre environment.
Also you should volunteer in your free time with the IP core guys, thats what I did and i ended up picking up a lot of experience from just watching those guys do BGP, MPLS etc.. -

Have you considered learning programming, Web developing?
Then have you considered Cyber Security? May be CompTIA Security + then may be https://cybersecurity.isaca.org/csx-certifications/csx-fundamentals-certificate
The more we learn the more value we will have. The next phase of human evolution will have to do with Artificial Intelligence. I'm not going to wait until tomorrow to see this dream come true. Instead a continue to assimilate knowledge.
Further, I occasionally visit home bound customers, whom I go and teach basic computers at a very low cost, such as USD 25 to 50. When they see me fix a problem they shared that they have other business that they can provide me for.
Also I'm currently learning foreign languages, so that I can gain their business if I were to speak their language. It is somewhat worked out for me. -

Good advice. I'm just wanting to find a way, maybe get some certs first. I'm trying to find a position inside but I don't know anyone (actually I know someone but he said it's not the right time).Hi Georgios,

......
Security+ is exactly what I'm going to do next and then CCNA.
