Is A+ hard?

I have been studying for the A+ certification for a few weeks now.

I have some experience in upgrading and installing PCs.

I have decided to take the hardware portion first.

How hard is the A+ exam?

Will there be detail questions to answer? (Eg. How many address register in a 386 processor?)

Or

Will there be more straight forward questions? (Eg. What is the current motherboard form factor?)

I'm a little worried that I my computer knowledge isn't enough to pass the exam.

Don't worry. The test is definitely not that specific. This test is for a broad understanding of PC hardware and operating systems. The toughest questions that relate to CPUs would have to do with the type of socket they are used with. Just study your materials, and you should do fine

any exam is as hard as you make it.

study and experience is the key to the a+, imo. a read through previous posts in both a+ forums here should give you a lot of pointers.

the practise test at this site is an indication of what type of questions you will receive.
