Daily Duties -

- Oversee the Windows 7 imaging process (Two Employees)
- Resolve tickets created by end users in Remedy (Anything from docking station, Outlook)
- Image Windows 10 machines for testing in our location

That's basically my job, with a lot of down time. I don't want to quit because they'll pay for my certifications. I currently have an expired A+ and I'm 93.563% sure I want to get the MCP next.

---
My questions -

- What roles could I grow into?
- What other duties could I do as I gain more experience?

Thanks,

Quench

Study for where you would like to go in life....
In my opinion, a good worker makes work.

If you could possibly make work for yourself that could make things easier, thats a way you could get experience. It'll show that you have drive as well.

This. Work on improving processes, automate stuff, decide what direction you want your IT career to go and start looking for relevant activities in that field. When I decided I wanted to get into security, I just started adding security tasks to my current job requirements (with permission ofc), and that got me where I am today: 100% security focused.

There is no such thing as true "down time". There's just pauses between specific duties that can be filled with other goodies.

I have a similar role as you but I just use my downtime to study. I have a small lab in my office and read when ever I can between calls.

Create documentation. I'm very detailed oriented in documentation to the point a non-IT staffer can grab it and run with it.
