Free Azure Training & Cheap Exams + retake

urstuffplz1urstuffplz1 Member Posts: 76 ■■■□□□□□□□
Just seen this article on Born to Learn and thought I'd share it you lot in case it would benefit someone:

https://borntolearn.mslearn.net/b/weblog/posts/gain-cloud-based-skills-with-microsoft-azure

In short, you can get 6 months free MOOC's courses purely on Azure. The courses look like a variety of slides, videos, labs and quizzes, and on completion of the course you get a certificate to say you've done that particular study.

Also, you can get 1x MS voucher for $99 including a free retake valid for 3 months, 3x vouchers + retake valid for 6 months.. but they're only valid for a variety of the Azure MS exams, you'd have to check the small print for what they cover.

The offer to purchase/subscribe for free training is here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/learning/azure-certification-training.aspx

So if I'm reading it right, someone get the training material, practice exams, and the exams to get the "MSCE:Cloud Platform and Infrastructure" certification, all for $279.

Yeah, um, that sounds like a pretty darn good deal. Thinking the Microsoft way for 90 straight days is a stress inducer though.

And not just that. You could get also the MCSA Cloud Platform, and the MCSD Azure Solutions Architect if you do 532 533 and 534. Plus 3 Specialist certifications and MCP (if you don't have it already).

    Instant resume.

On top of that, I don't think the free materials provided will be enough to pass. https://openedx.microsoft.com/ Also, it looks like the books for the exam are following the trend of not being enough to pass as well. It will definitely be a stressful challenge. But if you can get it done, then your resume will look pretty good.

That is absolutely insane! You'd look like a Microsoft god to some people with all of them

Unfortunately, where I live Azure or AWS are not massive hitters so I won't be specialising in these exams any time soon. The Azure Fundamentals course will be all I do from this offer I think.

I have to retract this statement. When I made this statement, there was only about 3-5 courses that were published. Over the past few months they have added ALOT of new courses. I'd say that the free materials that they have now are enough to pass.

For anyone who is considering taking an Azure exam in the future, I recommend signing up for these courses. Even if you're not 100% sure that you'll take it, you should still sign up. I made the mistake a long time ago of not signing up for all of their free Windows Server 2012 courses and now they're no longer available. I did sign up for the 2012 Storage course and I still have access to that course despite it not being available anymore. So, if you think that there is even a small chance that you might take this cert in the future, sign up for the courses. That way, when the courses are deleted, you will still have access to content.

This program is amazing! I just passed the 74-409, so I would do the $99 dollar program and get an MCSE on the cheap!

The discount price expires on 6/30/2017.

Looks the voucher for the $99 deal expires in three months and the vouchers for the @279 deal expire in six months.

I’m striking gold with this forum. First the discounted Azure Exams and then the following post with information on signing up for VisualStudio dev essentials and receiving three months of Pluralsight and Linux Academy for free.

Nice find! I wish my employer would do Azure. We do our own private cloud stuff for clients. Still am interested in this though. Seems like a great deal.

have a question about the azure exams. Do you only have to pass 2 exams for MCSA cloud platform or is MTA: IT Infrastructure listed in skills a prerequisite? https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/learning/mcsa-cloud-platform-certification.aspx

All MTAs are optional. None are mandatory.
Possess introductory IT skills through existing knowledge or optional MTA Certification

    Note the "or optional". ;)

thanks. is 70-533 the one to take? I was studying for 70-410 but can put that on pause for awhile.

You have to pass 2 of the ones listed on that page. 70-533 is one option.

So if I take all 3 of those I'll get all of those certs? And a MCP? Not sure I really need this but would like to have a couple of cloud certs, for $279 this seems like a steal.
