ICND1 and 2 question
WANtobeCCNA
Hi there!
So I took the ICND1 back in 2011 and passed it. However, I never took the ICND2. I am wondering if I took the ICND2 now, would I still obtain the CCNA after passing it?
Thanks!

No. Cisco exams are valid for three years.

thanks networker. Does that mean I'll need to retake the ICND1 again?

Yes, or take the full CCNA exam.

Yes, it is a bit silly that you have to take the whole test or two test route. I am in the same boat. My employer wants me to be CCNA - I originally went the two test route back in 2011. To re-certify I have to take the whole exam. Shouldn't be a problem, though

Another reason I'd suggest people just go the single test route and get it over with.

You are exactly right! I did think about taking both tests again, but I've been in a networking related role for a few years now. So it shouldn't be a problem for me to read through the CCNA book to review some topics that I may have forgotten. What sucks for the OP is that they'll essentially need to start all over again.
