Hi Guys,

I wrote my exam today and failed with a score of 673(first attempt).

The exam was focused heavily on IAM with around 40% of questions from the domain with Federated security being the core. Other big topics on the exam were BCP/DRP, Asset security, Security assessment & testing and Cloud computing.

I read Sybex 7th edition end to end twice with notes prepared and feel that the book does not cover the material completely(Ex - Domain 5, 2, etc). Anyone already deep into their preparation with Sybex and reading the post, my suggestion would be to review the CBK for topics not covered in Sybex 7th edition.

Experience - 6 years in information security(Firewall, Proxy, Risk & Compliance)
Preparation time(6 months)
Resources used:

Sybex 7th edition(Read end to end twice and prepared notes)
Cybrary(Watched the videos once and listened to them while commuting)
ISC2 Practice test by Wiley(Did all the questions for each domain and went through the my weak areas after each domain)
Sybex Practice tests(Scored 80+ consistently on all the 4 exams)
Eric Conrad - Read once and scored 80+ on these exams as well.

I plan to pick up my studies again from tomorrow and aim to crack the exam on 11th Feb.icon_twisted.gif

Additional tips or suggestions on where i may have went wrong are welcome :)

Now let me go cry a bit icon_cry.gif

Thanks,
S

Very sad to hear about that. Don't give up your hope and try hard again. Many people in this forum failed in first, second, even third time. Good Luck in next time.

You werw close, sucks to fail like that. My suggestion is to use a different book, preparing with only one resource is not good idea for the CISSP. I remember when I took mine, I had prepared by studying from 3 different books.
