Put My Two Weeks In

the_Grinchthe_Grinch Member Posts: 4,165 ■■■■■■■■■■
Training was cancelled for the day, but I did get the good news that I was officially ready to go to be hired for my new position! In two weeks I will begin my role as a Mobile Forensic Investigator! I at least got to meet the members of my Unit and they were all pretty awesome. Definitely will be an interesting position and I will learn a lot along with working hard.

Thanks all! Currently I work in investigations/regulation of cybersecurity for the casino industry and also fraud investigations. I took a course in college on forensics, but pretty sure about 75% of it is out of date now. For this job it came down to having the technical chops to at the very least learn what they need and in the same breath having the skills to help them move along on some technical projects they have going on. Also my previous investigatory and law enforcement experience definitely helped me out along with my nearly finished Masters in Legal Studies.

Sounds awesome. I have an A.A.S. in Computer Forensics & Security and was quite proficient with EnCase and FTK (haven't used either in about 5 years though). I had found how hard it was to land a job in that field so moved on to general IT before landing my current position in the security sector. Sounds like your job is what I was looking for. Congrats!

Thanks all! I posted a law school thread to update the status of that. Looks like it's not in the cards this year.
