can anyone give me some pointers as to what i should be aware of when taking the A+ os exam, i plan to take it this weekend

be aware of the objective, try reading the technotes on the site, and do the practice exams. -

I highly recommend taking all the free practice exams you can find, especially the one on this site. It is a great way to reinforce what you have learned and prepare you for the types of questions you will see.
