I have this book on my shelf; bought it when it was released.
A lot of the content is very Google specific, and the book has a few issues w/ tone. However, I definitely recommend this book.

I agree, It was a good read for the most part. It definitely reads like an internal manual at times but there is some pretty good content in there that can be applied elsewhere.
