Position Summary:

This position will provide operational support for the Log Archiving and Analysis service within Network Infrastructure and Services. The position will perform day-to-day tasks of maintenance, problem resolution, and changes to software of the service. The software stack includes Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana, and Kafka. This position will be the primary contact for operational issues with the application software of the service.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Business Information Technology, or an equivalent level of training and experience.
Linux systems administration experience.
Working knowledge of Linux systems, system administration tools, methodologies, and security practices.
Experience troubleshooting software and hardware system errors and the ability to analyze a wide range of system related problems.
Strong interpersonal and communications skills, and the ability to work in groups and lead projects.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
Experience supporting enterprise-class software and systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with Linux systems operations
Experience in a DevOps environment
Experience with change management tools such as Ansible and Git
Significant systems or application administration experience in higher education
Experience with log management systems
Experience with Redhat/CentOS or other RPM based distributions.
Experience with Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana, and Kafka
Knowledge of TCP/IP to include IPv6
Master’s degree or higher in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Business Information Technology, or similar area of study
