Do you need a degree to be a CCNA telecommunications tech?
TheNullVoid
I looked through the job descriptions here. It seems that's as hands on as it gets in IT. I am about to get my A+. Afterwards, I am looking at my CCNA.
Is telecommunications tech a HANDS on job?

Is a degree required? Not usually
Is telecom tech a hands-on job? Typically, yes.
Get your A+, CCNA and Network+ then take a breather and evaluate where you want to be.

You do not need a degree to be a hands on tech.
Having experience will help. Working for an ISP / MSP will give you a great deal of tech to work with and applying the protocols and topologies.
Good Luck!!!

If it is anything like a Broadband Installer you just need to be able to breathe and carry a latter at the same time...
