Resume question

Hey guys,

Getting my resume and website together for the transition out of military service, but I have a question that is tripping me up. How (with the formatting provided by ptilsen) do I go about listing the various positions within the same company.

I've been with the Army for 8 years and have served in 5 different positions, I want to make sure I capture all of that with the time frames while not crowding the resume with the same company name over and over.

Suggestions?

you list all the jobs in order from current to past.

Right.. I guess I’m more asking about the formatting.. for example:

US Army
Senior Network Administrator

February 2009 – Present

Personal Communications Coordinator
February 2015 – 2016

OR

US Army
Senior Network Administrator

February 2016 – Present

US Army
Personal Communications Coordinator

February 2015 – 2016

See what I mean? Keep listing US Army every time? Is there a better way to do that from experience?

I think listing each position separately with the same "employer" is fine.

From a review perspective, in the military resumes that I have viewed while interviewing, it is generally the first example. I also happen to think it reads the best too.

On my resume, I don't list all my previous roles with my current company, just my Director position. However, I have come to realize because military positions can be SO different and so varied, I would definitely list them all.

It's preference and will change person to person.

I personally like listing one employer and stepping the jobs down one bullet level describing your role / task. (Sort of like you did above). I am working off the assumption the last role you had was the one you want to leverage the most.
