1 Month Job Contract - How much to charge

Hello Guys !
I managed to get a 1 month contract.
It is for a Senior Systems Engineer role.

whats a good rate to charge them per hour.
It is 40 hours a week for a month.
I been in Systems Admin/engineering space for 7 years now !

$55/hr is the going rate up north.

1 month might as well be consulting rates which are a lot higher than you'd charge as a regular FTE. What kind of work only needs a Sr systems engineer for a month?

A lot of times these "projects" don't go as planned and you can get a few more months out of them......

How do you get a contract without rates being negotiated upfront?
