MSCA 2012 electives.

Hello,
I'm currently studying for the Server 2012 MCSA , I stared it last year and I was under the impression I could pass an elective (70-346 , 70-409 etc etc ) to earn my MCSA. This meant I didn't have to pass the final 70-412 exam and I could instead study for the 70-346 exam. Is this still the case? Can we still substitute exams to pass the Windows Server 2012 MCSA?
Theres no mention of it on Microsofts new certification paths.

I too wanted to skip the 412 and do the 74-409 instead but the 74-409 is only credit towards 'MCP' and 'Microsoft Specialist'

Either way, after I do ever finish my 412, I'll probably still take a shot at 74-409.

So I'm a bit confused.
I saw that thread as well and noticed it was pretty recent too so I'm not really sure what to go by... At the moment, if I ever do get around to doing the 411, I might just stick to the path on the MS site and go get the 412 OR I could just see what happens and get the 74-409 but if I don't get it, have I just set myself a few months back from studying 412 content which I could've done sooner...

Is that for people who had already made progress toward MCSA 2012 by a certain date? I don't these elective options except for the MCSE.
Recent: 11/2019 - RHCSA (RHEL 7); 2/2019 - Updated VCP to 6.5 (just a few days before VMware discontinued the re-cert policy...)
Working on: RHCE/Ansible
Future: Probably continued Red Hat Immersion, Possibly VCAP Design, or maybe a completely different path. Depends on job demands...
EDIT: Never mind, I found it under the cert planner under your profile. I knew I've seen that somewhere before

Nascar Paul is right, I've seen it under cert planner.
Upcoming Certs: VCA-DCV 7.0, VCP-DCV 7.0, Oracle Database 1Z0-071, PMP, Server +, CCNP
Proverbs 6:6-11Go to the ant, you sluggard! Consider her ways and be wise, Which, having no captain, Overseer or ruler, Provides her supplies in the summer, And gathers her food in the harvest. How long will you slumber, O sluggard?
When will you rise from your sleep? A little sleep, a little slumber, A little folding of the hands to sleep, So shall your poverty come on you like a prowler And your need like an armed man.
I am bit of confused about this. I passed 70-346 like two years ago while getting MCSA Office 365. This year I decided to get MCSA Win Server 2012 in my spare time and like a month ago I saw in my cert planner that I need to pass just 70-410 and 70-411 since 70-346 is elective for 70-412. So I passed 70-410 and then 70-411 today.. But when I open my cert planner now I don't see any electives for 70-412 like it was before, instead of that I see that 70-412 is required for MCSA... I call this BS, because I see nowhere any kind of notification about changing the rules...
So I wanna ask do you guys still see options for electives in your cert planners??
after following up on this, I was told by Microsoft that there was "a disconnect in two systems due to them containing different data". I just checked my transcript, and it's now showing I have passed the MCSA 2012. But I'd proceed very carefully though if you're currently planning on taking one of these electives. Probably better to play it safe and go 410, 411, and 412.

Not for me they don't. I was told this by Microsoft after querying why my recent pass of 74-409 was not counting towards my MCSA:
"Microsoft has updated the process about earning the [MCSA] certification. The update was completed this June 2017 and the exam 74-409 was removed as a substitute exam and all other substitute exams listed."
