Can I use a calculator in the A+ exams?

During the pratice tests, I have encounter a few questions where I have to convert a binary number into a decimal number.

I can assume there are going to be questions like that on the A+ exam.

Am I allow to use a calculator during the A+ exam?

don't think prometric/vue will provide you with a calc but I think the exam application has a calculator applet or dialog or something... icon_lol.gif

Took exam in May. Didn't need calc.

    Don't recall any binary conversions.

Just be sure that you understand what binary is and why hexadecimal notation is used. You'll probably need to know that, because, even though computers understand only binary, system resources are displayed to the tech in hex notation. Of course, you probably know that already.

    Best of luck!

That is not totally accurate. Trust me.

It wouldn't hurt to know how to set a SCSI ID by using dip switches-- and that ain't nuthin' but binary.

I think that is as far as I can go on this subject......

No calculator needed. For any test that a calc is needed you are usually supplied one or you have to use the one in Windows.
