Certifications that can be done from your home?

Curious if there were some you could do from home.

I'd like to compile a list if at all possible.

Seriously, who has time to go to a testing center and take an exam on a Pentium 2 :/

You could easily search for the answers since this has been asked multiple times on the TE forums. But since no one has time for that I'll go ahead and link you stuff I found on Google:

    https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/learning/online-proctored-exams.aspx

    https://proctoru.com/portal/comptia

Use a webcam, they make you show them your ID and have a clear workspace for the exam.

    PeopleCert for the ITIL exams.

Offensive Security (OSCP/OSWP) can be taken from home.
    EC-Council
Microsoft (Certain exams are available to take at home) (Double check with PearsonVUE)
    Link for more info: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/learning/online-proctored-exams.aspx
CompTIA (certain tests like Server+, Project+ and I think Cloud+)

Those are the ones I can think of as of now.

The ones @kMastaFlash mentioned as well as the ITIL and eLearnSecurity certs. Can't think of any others but there might be some out there.

The VMWare VCA6-DCV I think can be taken from home. A while back I was able to do the upgrade exams for VCP 5.5 from home as well. Microsoft has plenty of remote options.

Well I know of these off the top of my head. Not all of the vendors offer every exam.

    CompTIA
    EC-Council
    Microsoft
    Apple
    VMWare

This is comical, I was so clueless. No idea these vendors made it so much easier now.

Thanks again too EVERYONE who provided this information.

There are others that are less mainstream, too.

    Commvault
    AccessData
    Magnet Forensics
    Guidance Software (Encase)
    eLearnSecurity
    ISFCE
    etc

Not sure if this whole thread is a trôll - but in case it isn't, I will state the obvious: Any unproctored test you can take from home is essentially open-book, which means it should be really, really hard. If it isn't, then it is essentially worthless, a rubber-stamp cert you are buying for the cost of the exam.
If I were a hiring manager, I would not be impressed by someone listing any such certs as a way to reinforce their "knowledge" of a subject.

The certs listed above are usually still proctored. You use a webcam to prove you're not cheating and probably have to have only the test application open on our computer. That's essentially the same anti-cheating methods utilized in physical testing centers.
    Goals for 2018:
Certs: RHCSA, LFCS: Ubuntu, CNCF CKA, CNCF CKAD | AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, AWS Solutions Architect Pro, AWS Certified Security Specialist, GCP Professional Cloud Architect
Learn: Terraform, Kubernetes, Prometheus & Golang | Improve: Docker, Python Programming
    To-do | In Progress | Completed

Not sure if the OP means proctored or un proctored but I know that there are exams at the associate level that you can take. Not sure how useful that would be in the grand scheme of things though.
Certifications: ITIL, ACA, CCNA, Linux+, VCP-DCV, PMP, PMI-ACP, CSM

I was thrilled when I took my CCW course online. If I can take A+ online, I will be a happy camper

Really changes the dynamics of testing. So nice to hear that this is the norm now.

I always felt like I was going in to get my weekly supply of methadone when walking into prometric / pearson vue testing centers.

    I don't think it's the norm. But it's becoming a viable option.

An interesting option that certainly has value for those who are far from testing centers, but I'm leery about the idea.

I mean, when things get jacked up for whatever reason (lost Internet connection, power outage, Microsoft decides to re-boot your system, dog chewing your power cord, etc.), it'd probably be a major pain to deal with. I kind of like that Pearson VUE or whoever is on the hook for providing me a seat, a working computer, and exam access. If they dork it up, they can reschedule you no problem -- not sure that'd be the case if we dork it up ourselves. My focus is solely on prepping for and passing my exam, not setting up or troubleshooting the exam system. I like that.

    Just my 2 cents.
