ok last year in november i completed my 70-270 (XP exam) resonably well with 896 with only reading through the text book 2 times and reading the test kings practice questions about 4 times.
When i got in the test i noticed that 80% or more of the test king questions were on there and exactly the same word for word....
So with the 70-290 (managing and maintaing serv2003) i have test kings practice questions and the official text book.. do u think doing the same thing i did for the 270 exam i should be ok?? or would i need more material.
thanks

Dont use the ****, learn ur stuff and be a quality confident IT engineer or whichever path you take. Its your career for the rest of your life learn your **** and be able to solve the real life problems -
norman1nz Member Posts: 7 ■□□□□□□□□□yea i think **** should only be used to check ur knowledge - but paid practice questions / exams let you do this anyway and explain why each answer is right or wrong..
If the **** had explainations of why each answer was right/wrong then they would be a good LONG TERM resource - not just a way to pass the exam without [having to ] learn the concepts.
Still if you're reading a book a couple of times - i guess u should have a good grasp of the concepts anyways -

There are many ways to test your knowledge other than ****. And actually **** don't always test your knowledge, because the few I've seen were absolutely atrociously wrong with answers and explanations. Brain **** are probably the #1 culprit in bringing down the value and worth of certifications, however, some of those who seek the certifications insist on using and supporting the very thing that will ulitimately lead to the certification their trying to gain being not respected. It's almost like taking a pill for a slight cough knowing that taking that pill will also give you cancer. I really don't get it. Also consider that fact that if there were no ****, vendors wouldn't have to update/change their exams so often. This could possibly lead to cheaper exam costs. -

its basically real questions and answers, which losers like to memorize so that they can get a cert without learning.witty comment -
Lee H Member Posts: 1,135I think most peoples view of braindumps are that its memorizing as oppose to understanding, my opinion is both ways. There is an awful lot to remember for the 290 exam i am sitting it myself in 3 weeks and its really tough i will consider myself lucky if i pass. I have been fortunate enough to get hold of 400 Q n As including sims for 290 exam and they are great to read and get better understanding of server 2003. I will not just memorize i will use these questions as revision once i have completed the course book.
Unfortunatly you have to learn the Microsoft way or you wont pass the exam, even if your going to go onn and do the same thing in your own way.

zebra-3 Member Posts: 79 ■■□□□□□□□□wait wait wait let me make sure I got it right ok ?, are you saying that it is possible to find all the Q and A of the MCP exams ??? and that some people would just memorise them to pass the exam ???
is it by legal ways you can get these Q and A ? or by some Warez websites ?
Hope I am wrong because if it starts to be known by the general public, that would remove any credibility about MCP certs...
I call this cheating an exam. And would affect the credibily of other MCP, if a so called MCP was on the field and not able to demonstrate his skills -
Lee H Member Posts: 1,135Depends on how you use the questions, you could just memorize them and pass the exam but that would be cheating and yes it would make other MCP's less credible. I only use it when i have read all exam content and understand the concepts behind each topic, if you want these questions i will happily give you them, but you will be cheating yourself if you dont use them properly.

and of course that is the major downside to the cheating, that it greatly reduces the credibility of the MS certs - not only your own, but everyone else's.
and unfortunately it is already very well known to most of the public, and has been for quite awhile.witty comment -
gfreem Member Posts: 4 ■□□□□□□□□□I also find it really p##### me off as I have spent many hours studying and learning the concepts, so to be MCP'd and be on the same level as someone who just memorised the answers is quite offensive....
sorry about the rant!!

holysheetman Member Posts: 113 ■■■□□□□□□□to zebra-3,
Where the hell have you been man? **** have been around for years and years.... and of course they are wrong but at least some have explanations getting behind the answers fully so that one could at least learn something from cheating the testing system... I'll give them that credit, if nothing at all.
I believe its more of a pure challenge to come into the testing center and be presented with a scenario that you are not familiar with. It really does require me to think, and proves skill when you are doing it for real in the field of IT. -

Well honestly I have asked a few friends around they didn't know about cheating MCP, also I was member of a similar forum for MCP but for French speakers, in 2 years I have never seen a threat mentioning MCP ****, so I would assume for the first time in history French are beeing honest, or no one as though yet in translating these **** to French... -
holysheetman Member Posts: 113 ■■■□□□□□□□ahh I see your point... no translations in French... so it's better that way I would assume
