Hybrid key encryption

I totally understand symmetric and asymmetric key encryption.

Struggling to grasp hybrid key encryption. Watched the CBT Nuggets video and reading Mike Meyer's book today.

Anyone have a good way of simplifying it for me??

The great example is that how Wannacry ransomware uses hybrid key encryption.
Hybrid is basically mixing symmetric and asymmetric cryptosystems.
