Hi guys,

Got an interview coming up with a media compang for the role of a junior network admin and was hoping to get some advice

The role specs include the usual personal attributes along with prefered CCNA or net+ cert and someobe who is willing to do self study. Ill report to the network lead however the role will also require some work on server admin, virtualisation ect ect.

Ive self studied for the CCENT and now im studying for the CCNA.

While i feel im good with Config/TShoot i cant remeber concepts well, and im not even sure if they use cisco hardware.

Plus the interview is with the IT manager, network specialist and HR rep.

I was hoping if anyone could give advixe on what to expect and how to come out ontop.

thanks

Be ready for any question. Have questions of your own regarding their networks..

This sounds very much like an all in one support role. A combo of helpdesk, desktop support, network, and basic server administration.

Most of these type of jobs come down to personality and your level of motivation to learn. How you will fit in and deal with end users of the company will also play a role.

I wouldn't get too caught up on what equipment they currently have in production. Most likely the interview will not be super technical. The interviewers may bring up a generic scenario and ask how you would handle it. They may also ask you about how you handle stressful situations or how you have interacted with end users in the past.

    Best of luck to you.
