faintingheart Member Posts: 256So hard to find IT volunteer jobs. I only found a handful (3-4). It's so rare or something.

Cardboard Member Posts: 43 ■■□□□□□□□□Data Entry is absolutely ZERO for true IT experience. Look for jobs in Desktop Support. Not help desk, but desktop support. Reloading OS's on computers. Installing programs, backing up and restoring user files, repairing PC's, installing printers, etc. That's your first step to get real IT experience.

faintingheart Member Posts: 256So Helpdesk and Desktop are two different type of jobs? I thought it was the same i was wrong.

scaredoftests Mod Posts: 2,780 Modtotally different. Data Entry is administrative/office work. Help Desk is phone support (at least for the tier 1) Desktop support you are face to face with the customer and the desktop (or remote)Never let your fear decide your fate....

faintingheart Member Posts: 256And the customers (from Desktop support) are usually in the company that your working for right? So if i work at Acme inc then i would serve employee from Acme inc, is that correct?

scaredoftests Mod Posts: 2,780 ModIt all depends if the person is a contractor or hired directly with the company. What does that have to do with Data Entry? LOLNever let your fear decide your fate....
