First time poster, long time lurker..
Passed Security + a week ago with 790, first time around. This forum was a tremendous help! Along with Darril Gibson's book. I had 6 sims which I had flagged to save for last which is probably the best advice I would give when you go in for this exam. They do take a little extra time considering their nature, especially if you are not familiar with CompTIA testing. My study approach was: Read Darril Gibson's book straight through and taking the end of chapter exams. Afterwards I went through the book again and wrote notes on the "Things to Remember" and anything I thought I may need to touch up on. Then I took the practice exam in the back of the book, reviewing the things I missed. I also utilized Skillsoft for practice exams. Total study time took a little over a month.
