HELLO EVERYONE
of course you can see im a noob to the forum. But anyway I have question, do you all think the CNWA will have much relevance to WIMAX? Of course the obvious is that it is a wireless specification(802.16) but do you think there will be seperate CERTS FOR WIMAX? and do think the CWNA is sort of a prereq to WIMAX?

The CWNA exam material does cover WiMAX.

I don't know if Planet3 is planning an entire certification just for WiMAX, but Googling "wimax certification" shows that a few WiMAX certification programs do exist.

Thanks for the response........ I will google Wimax certs.I know this isnt a forum on WIMAX, but do you think it would be a must have cert in addition to the CWNA? Because from the reviews I keep reading it should be a winner.

It depends on the source of the information you read. On the one hand, it looks like WiMAX is growing quickly and being utilized all over the world. On the other hand, people talk about it as "too little too late," and newer standards are already replacing it. The consumer market will ultimately determine how far WiMAX goes (pun intended).

The Wireless# certification covers the basics of WiMAX, but the upper level CWNP certs - CWNA, CWSP, CWAP - do not cover WiMAX, only Wi-Fi.

Hey kevinator, long time no post!

I just had a look through the CWNA Study Guide 3rd edition and there is no mention of 802.16 or WiMAX. Besides Wireless#, might you guys be planning a WiMAX-specific cert? And what's your opinion of the current success and projected longevity of the 802.16 standard?
