Hello, Im new here and currently taking PWK.

Quick Background:
I'm currently working as application security tester for about 7 months. My past job is a system developer mostly web applications.

- I suck in networking
- I'm not good at python and C but I can understand the code and how it works.

I started the course last month June 12 and finished the materials on July 5.

I've already rooted 15 boxes.

I'll try to root Jeff today.

    Would you say that your background as a Test and developer helped in getting to root the boxes?
    From what you know as you go through rooting the boxes, what will be your advise to someone who is about to start?
    I know it depends on experience...but leave that out and talk straight about the advise. Don't know if it makes sense, but pls try for me.

    For me it helped a lot. I don't know how to code in python and C but being a developer or knows how to develop gave me an easier approach on how to understand the syntax and what the codes do.

    Also since most of my developing and testing career focused on web application I easily absorbed and understand the web application attacks.

    Thanks for the prompt response.
    The response gives an idea of what I need as part of my baseline to study. As a reference it will help me prepare for my journey starting in about 90 days from August 1st, 2017.

    Hey i know basics of python,bash,php,javascript just basics.
    I don't know networking.I know sqli only.
    So with my current knowledge am i able to take this course ?

    For me yes you could it depends on your learning curve if you able to pass the exam. You'll learn a lot in this course.

    ALL my certs are clearly for "cutting" down the time to obtain knowledge or grow my skills compared to having to "on the job training".
