tedjames Member Posts: 1,182 ■■■■■■■■□□I just signed up for October. I forgot how much I hate having to go through Peason Vue's site.
I have video training and cert guides (Cybex and Cengage) from Skillsoft through my office. Then there's Cybrary and Udemy. Any other good prep sources? -
stryder144 Member Posts: 1,684 ■■■■■■■■□□I had a conversation about with Logical Operations asking if I wanted to help out with the Cloud+ certification materials. I did not connect the dots that a revision was in the works until I went to CompTIA's website looking for version numbers and spotted the beta exam. Signed up for the end of September. That should give me time to study after I complete my CCNA: Cyber Ops certification exams. The easiest thing to be in the world is you. bjpeter Member Posts: 198 ■■■□□□□□□□I renewed my Cloud+ certification this year, but seeing that the beta exam cost only $50, I couldn't resist and decided to sign up for version 2.0 of the Cloud+ exam. I'm going to take it in three weeks.2021 Goals (2): SSCP, eCPPT
Achieved (27): Certified Associate in Python Programming, Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals, PenTest+, Project+, CySA+, Flutter Certified Application Developer, OCP Java EE 7 Application Developer, CCSP, OCP Java SE 11 Developer, CISSP, Linux+/LPIC-1, CCSKv4, OCE Java EE 6 JPA Developer, CSSLP, Server+, Cloud+, Arcitura Certified Cloud Professional, CASP+, Mobility+, Storage+, Android Certified Application Developer, OCP Java SE 8 Programmer, Security+, OCM Java SE 6 Developer, B.S. and M.S. in Computer Science -
tedjames Member Posts: 1,182 ■■■■■■■■□□The only exam objectives I could find on CompTIA's site were for V1.0. For beta exams, do they actually post new objectives? Should I just study based on the V1.0 objectives and hope for the best?
By the way, the beta exam will have simulations in addition to the usual multiple choice. -
tedjames Member Posts: 1,182 ■■■■■■■■□□I just learned that CompTIA will not post objectives for the Beta exam. CompTIA said that they will base the new objectives on the results of the Beta exam. They also said that just studying the V1 objectives will not be enough because they are changing a lot of them. That said, what do you plan to use for study materials?
I'm still studying the V1 objectives using the Sybex book (follows the objectives very closely) as well as Cybrary, whatever I can find on Udemy, and anything else I can dig up. I'll need to find some sources that were written in the last year so I can pick up on newer trends and technology. I'm also concerned about the performance-based questions and what to expect.

tedjames Member Posts: 1,182 ■■■■■■■■□□That's pretty much what I'm doing so far. I also have access to Cloud+ training on Skillsoft through my job. There's also a lot of great NIST and FedRAMP reference, though some of it may be dated.

I'm taking it tomorrow. I'm not going to study because I've taken quite a few cloud-related exams before, including Cloud+, and I'm quite knowledgeable in cloud.2021 Goals (2): SSCP, eCPPT

Here's the exam objectives for v1 and what looks like a rough outline for v2. Their definitely laid out differently so you may wanna take a look before testing. -
DoubleNNs Member Posts: 2,015 ■■■■■□□□□□Is the Cloud+ Beta no longer available for purchase? I don't see an option to purchase it on the CompTIA website.
Edit: Nevermind. Found it available directly on the Pearson Vue website. Scheduled it for the end of September.Goals for 2018:
Certs: RHCSA, LFCS: Ubuntu, CNCF CKA, CNCF CKAD | AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, AWS Solutions Architect Pro, AWS Certified Security Specialist, GCP Professional Cloud Architect

dhay13 Member Posts: 580 ■■■■□□□□□□New beta was tough. Very lengthy and wordy. Don't screw around or waste any time. I hit submit with 6 minutes left and just threw any answers in 3 of my simulations because they were so lengthy it took me 5-10 minutes just to read through them. I'm sure others with more cloud experience could get through it a little quicker but I felt the questions were very wordy. Each question had about 3-5 sentences describing the requirements for a given situation. Takes awhile to get through those and then figure out the right answer. I expect to see those questions but I think every single question was like that. I have never taken the original Cloud+ so can't compare the two.
All in all, I know I blew the simulations but am on the fence with the rest. I think I did good enough on those but we will see. I don't have much cloud experience so only went off of what I know and used logic to answer the rest (and some guessing). -

If you look at the CV0-002 objectives linked by airzero, it looks like almost every question is "Given a scenario" or "Given a cloud scenario". Those are always going to be longer questions with multiple sentences to setup the scenario. Hopefully you got enough of the written questions right to cover for the simulations. I have mine scheduled for the end of September, so can't give an informed opinion on the test yet -
someperson49 Member Posts: 82 ■■■□□□□□□□For anyone who has done this, do they ask specific questions about services from cloud providers like AWS, Azure, Google?

asiru77 Member Posts: 65 ■■□□□□□□□□i have not taken it but i am sure they will not because all of their exams are vendor neutral

joelsfood Member Posts: 1,027 ■■■■■■□□□□Definitely not a short test, but I was pretty happy with it. I did make a few suggestions/comments on some questions. Seemed to hold pretty well to the previously linked objectives. Now I just have to wait two months to find out how I did.

joelsfood Member Posts: 1,027 ■■■■■■□□□□Just a guess. Cut Score workshop for this one is in about 6 weeks, if memory serves. Time from beta to results varies depending on when the followup items are scheduled to turn all of those beta tests into results.
