Help with upgrade please

I have an evaluation version of windows xp professional cd(came with an MCDST book to help me practice the scenario questions) that I wanted to install as an upgrade to the windows xp home edition that I am currently using. someone told me that I cannot upgrade from home edition to pro, and that I have to do a clean installation instead. This is the only computer I have and I don't want to mess it up. What are my options? can someone please help me? icon_confused.gif

If it is an evaluation version and it is your only computer, why try? Most MS evaluations versions stop working after six months. Upgrades I believe only work on 98 ME and Win2k but I don't think an evaluation version will update any version.

I was just looking at some ways that might help me with the practice questions because I'm sure some of those will be on the certification exam and I believe if I practice instead of just read, I will remember it better. Thanks anyway

    Use virtual server then.
    A+ Certified - Network+ - MCP (70-290)
    MCSA - CCNA - Security+ (soon)
