MBA online - AACSB accredited

Im not sure if anybody here has look into it. So far, Im getting paid good but I would want more.

I dont think I will be as energetic as I am when I am 40s or 50s. I dont think i can study and retain as much as I can in the future. So, Im planning a way to get MBA now. My work will only pay 7.5k a yr.

Some requirements:

AACSB accredited
100% online
Waive GMAT
Will Accept WGU
less than 10-20k (ive looked into CSU, UCs, damn those are 30k to 50k). Again, my work will only pay 7.5k a yr.

Don't forget that many schools charge online at the same tuition rate as out-of-state and that out-of-state tuition typically has little bearing on in-state, which is what those "most affordable" lists tend to use. Then you have mandatory fees to deal with, even though online students typically never use their "top ranked health center".

Things you didn't mention, does your work have a minimum number of credits? Were you planning on going full time (9+) or part-time?

The cheapest school on the list would cost you $8550 per semester to attend 9 credits, plus books, unless you're in NC.

Yeah MBA programs tend to charge a fortune compared to other masters degrees. Sometimes the cost is justified if it is a very good MBA program. Like Purdue's MBA program with a concentration in IT at the main Lafayette campus would cost a fortune, but looks very good on the resume. A friend of mine got his Engineering degree from University of Illinois Champaign and then his MBA from Purdue-Lafayette with a concentration in IT he makes good money in the engineering field. My father's good friend his wife got her bachelor's in Accounting from Notre Dame and immediately got her MBA from Notre Dame without any previous work experience. She landed a high paying job immediately out of school, but that was like over 30 years ago.

However I think with all your certs and experience where you get the MBA from wouldn't matter so much. You have the thing MBA schools say is most crucial for the MBA to be worth the investment a lot of work experience in your field.

In my area a lot people get their MBA's from IU and Purdue extension schools rather than at the main campus mainly because the MBA's at the extension schools cost way less than at the main campus that has a highly ranked MBA program. It use to cost only about $17k to get an MBA at one of IU's extension schools, but that was a few years ago it probably is more now.

What do you need an MBA for is the first question I would ask. I typically advise against earning those levels of degrees just based on the very low ROI they have in the job market right now.

I think the OP just wants an MBA to round out his CV for a chance at better employment. The purpose of an online MBA should be just that. To think that an MBA earned online at a nominal price will have a significant impact on your career prospects is not realistic. If the MBA needs to do that, you'll need to attend a major university which will cost you more time and money, both things they do not want to invest.

I guess I have to wait a little bit since my company's policy says that I can get education assistance after staying with them for a year. A year of wait is not that bad. I got several certs to knock out. I verified that they will only refund if its a AACSB accredited.

I believe ROI is very low right now but I think it will help in the long run.
The goal is to be CIO or CISO. Why not aim for the sky, right?

From my research on LinkedIn while I was a premium member (being able to look at unlimited profiles), the MBA will help you in obtaining a C level position more than you think. I've seen plenty of CIO/CISO/CTO guys with very little by way of technical experience however they had one thing in common, an MBA. While it may not be a golden ticket per se, I think it will definitely help in getting that level of a position. Heck, I'd even say go for a Masters in Music Composition

I know the debate will always be fierce when it comes to needing an MBA or not, but I have mine. I got mine about 6 years ago. It was a great decision, and I used a local private university where my company was willing to pay for the cost. When it comes to the accreditation, I can tell you that you are going to have a hard time finding a legit school to waive the GMAT. The GMAT is almost always required from accredited schools, and that test is no joke. You don't need high scores to get into a program though, so keep that in mind when you are preparing yourself for it.

I got my undergrad from a local in-state university so I don't know how well WGU goes when it comes to getting credit from. They are regionally accredited so I can only assume that most universities will take their degree.

I would just start at the list of the top 50 online MBA programs and just start contacting them. Don't get hung up to get a MBA from a prestigious school. IMHO, they aren't worth the extra cost. Your MBA as long as its accredited will help your career.

I understand that there is no point going for an MBA if the tuition cost is up there. I dont want to be in debt. There are schools online that offers MBA with AACSB but with a steep 30-40k price: Capella, Kelley Business Idiana Univ, and pepperdine univ.

If the MBA is more than 15k then I will go for the MBA in WGU. So far my work will cover 7.5k. I can pay the extra if its not that high. West Texas A&M Univ offers MBA online with a cheap tuition. They waive GMAT if you have more than 10 years experience in your field. Nothing is sure yet. Ill keep looking for a Univ that have my requirements. Like I said, if the cost is too high then i have no choice but to go back to WGU for an MBA.

I think I have an edge. A lot of guys that are C level are not that technical. I think my technical skills gives me an edge to be the hybrid. Ill definitely start on 2019. I still have cissp and vmware certs in my plate.

I was going to share the availability of this degree to add to your list.

I was accepted to this program last week and I will start in Jan 18. they have many specializations and you can take two classes per seven weeks period to complete in 10 months if you want or can.
