I have obviously read that already.
It doesn't mention the cost.

It seems pretty clear. With option 1, the cost is the cost of the same exam again. With option 2, the cost is whatever the cost of the higher level exam is.

Here's a tip, attitude from new people gets them nowhere. Bolding the "obvious" when you had said no such thing is the attitude part.

As Linux Foundation does not have higher level certification than LFCE, there is no option to renew LFCE, just take exam again.
