If you wait until late November and/or into December, the Linux Foundation will probably have a sale on the LFCS certification training and exam. It is one of two exams needed for the MCSA: Linux on Azure certification.

How did you like the CCNA Cyber Ops journey? Maybe it's just the branding, but from an outsider looking in, it looks like a fantastic certification for someone looking to transition into Network Security.

Below are my original goals for 2018:
    *ISC2 CAP, CISSP
*Hit the gym to get back into shape, Dress Better for Success
*Learn SQL Server plus SQL, Improve using Powershell

    Achieved as of 2018:
    *ISC2 CAP
*New Job (although not in the list)

Not ready to take CISSP until probably early next year, just began going to the gym, and decided not to continue with SQL Server and Powershell as it will not benefit long term.

So looking ahead my goals for 2019 would be:
    *CISSP
    *CCSP or CISA
    *Learn basics of Redhat
*Get back into shape; Dress better for success.

    Did get (5):
AWS Big Data Specialty and the remaining four Chef Badges: Local Cookbook Development, Deploying Cookbooks, Auditing with InSpec and Extending Chef

    Did not get (2):

    Did get additionally (10):
Docker Certified Associate, EXIN DevOps Master, ISACA CSX-F, AWS Security Specialty, Prince2 Foundation+Practitioner, Professional Scrum Developer I, Professional Scrum Product Owner I, VMware Certified Associate (Digital Business Transformation), VMware "VMware Cloud on AWS" Badge

Quite happy with the performance and will figure out my plans for 2019 during the holidays.

Looking back on 2018, I am satisfied with my progress.  I accomplished CISSP, which was a MAJOR milestone for me, and I finished my MBA.  I have more complicated certs in mind for 2019, but I'll focus on getting through xmas first.
Master of Business Administration in Information Technology Management - Western Governors University
Master of Science in Information Security and Assurance - Western Governors University
Bachelor of Science in Network Administration - Western Governors University

This was supposed to be a big certification-year for me, but alas I ended up getting sidelined by a new job and a bunch of things in my personal life. For 2018, though, my new job is providing both training classes and reimbursement for my certs, so I feel a bit more encouraged to hit the books. I want to knock out 70-533 to earn my MCSE before the end of 2017, but here's what's on my plate for next year:
    - -
I'm also going to be developing a bunch of skills outside of cert-paths like hammering down new features in PowerShell, working extensively with Git and Github, and a digging into a bunch of other devops topics. I expect to go gray within the first quarter of the next fiscal year.
I earned my MCSE (taking 70-533 recently,) as well as the upgrade to MCSA 2016. I've got 70-744 on the books for January (earning me the new MCSE too,) so I'm thinking I'll count it as Q4 of 2018 and include it for 2018 goals.  :p

As for AWS stuff, I'm going to work on AWS Architect Associate and Developer Associate first before the Sysops exam, but that's for later on this year after I finish up my Azure-related exams. AZ-102 and the AZ-200/201 exams are on the schedule for me before I go back to Amazon-land. All in all, 2018 was productive, and I'm hoping 2019 will be even more so now that my job is accelerating my training and cert-paths.

    Free Microsoft Training: Microsoft Learn
Free PowerShell Resources: Top PowerShell Blogs
Free DevOps/Azure Resources: Visual Studio Dev Essentials

Let it never be said that I didn't do the very least I could do.

To have recertified on three certs and added extra certs is good progress regardless. Well done.

I defer my 2018 Certification goals to 2019.  Still haven't been motivated to study for ITIL or CCNA.
Still searching for the corner in a round room.
