How long did it take you to pass CCNP route?
pujan96
Hey All,
Was hoping to guage how long it took most to complete the CCNP Route study and exam. Also how you went about it would also be great. E.G. Pressbooks? Labbing? Videos?
Im trying to build a CCNP route study plan as its one of my goals to complete it, along with some studying on Riverbed Wan Compression.
Thanks
Happy new years all

I passed on my 3rd attempt. It also took me about 4 months. It was a huge difference coming from the CCNA. This was also like 8 years ago as well so things may have changed.

Took me about 5-6 months. Studying during down time in work - no study at home

I spent a solid 8 months, passed barely I think.

I took me about 3 months. Some prefer GNS3, but I was able to simulate almost everything needed for the route exam in PacketTracer. A couple of things that can factor into your preparation time: if you're doing/have done CCNP routing level work in your job role, years of experience working in networking, and the amount of hours per week dedicated to studying. Good luck!
