Taking SSCP next week. Looking for advice.

Hi all! icon_study.gif

I have my SSCP scheduled for next Tuesday and I am looking for any advice. A little background:

I have already read Gibson All in one and the Sybex book.
I am scoring 85%+ on all full length practice tests (125 questions).
I passed my Security+ and CySA+ in the past three months.

I was just wondering if anyone had any preparation advice and if there is anything I may be missing from my study regime?

Also, how hard was SSCP compared to Security+ and CySA+ for those who have taken them?

Any other general advice is appreciated! I feel confident, but am still worried about what to expect as I have never taken a ISC2 exam before.

Thanks!

I found CySA+ was more difficult than the SSCP. SSCP exam was pretty straightforward and you're able to pick the right answer most of the time. I was done in about 40 mins.

    I think you are ready...

I did prepare with Darill Gibson's book and Sybex too. The only thing that I would recommend you is a quick overview of the SSCP CBK, just in case that you see some keyword that you didnt recognize.

But you should be able to write it without that.

I passed SSCP about 3 weeks ago. Darill Gibson's 125 questions are helpful, so try to score 100% and understand them thoroughly. I found there are 4 to 5 questions about extranet which not covered much in he book.
The test questions are hard, not straight forward, read the questions carefully and choose the best answer.

I finished the SSCP exam in about an hour. I had passed Security+ a few months earlier. I'd say that if you passed Security+ and CySA+ recently, you'll have no problem with SSCP.

I think you are ready to go. I just used Gibson’s books as my only study material and passed it first attempt.

yeah, should be all fine - i find it very similar to Sec+ and easier than CSA+.

Woo! Passed. I found it really easy. In my opinion, I found the questions extremely straight forward, but that may just be my level of expertise from previous exams.

    For anyone curious:
I studied for 3 weeks by just reading AIO and Sybex book and taking the practice quizzes. My Security+ and CySA+ experience probably really helped. It was a relief when I saw the questions haha

Disclaimer: If this is your first cert it probably will not be as easy for you as it was for me.
