Looking to delve deeper into VMware as my current knowledge is quite limited.

Does anyone have any recommendations on training material, books, etc?

You'll have to be more specific. VMware has a large ecosystem.

The infrastructure and protocols involved, setting up and using VMware vSphere Client/vCentre, storage technologies, etc.

I'm assuming you mean VMware vSphere, since thats where most people start in VMware tech, there are many other products made by VMware though, for vSphere this book is a must have.

Actually. If you can wait a month or less, than the new release will be out which will also cover 6.5 features Plus obvious the new 6.7
