Difference between Vue and Prometric?

Hello everyone.
I was just curious as to what the differences were between Vue and Prometric. I mean, when you register your exam with either (for example A+), you take CompTIA's exam, not VUE or Prometric's. Is it simple a matter of what your testing center accepts?

It's like buying a sony TV. You can buy it at Best BUY or Circuit City. Your decision usually comes down to personal preference, location and price difference.
