Does anyone know why SCCM takes so long to do software update deployment?

There are multiple variables that contribute to SCCM delays. Some of them I experience:
*Number of CAS/DPs in the infrastructure
*Number of clients
*Number of Collections
*How often things are set to update
*Physical resources on the servers
*How often clients check in
