BlackBeret Member Posts: 683 ■■■■■□□□□□Pass, 792. I still say that it was extremely broad, no one is going to have the in-depth technical knowledge in every facet of pentesting from mobile to wireless to web, but I'll take the pass. Also, it didn't apply CEU's to my Sec+. I was hoping that would count.

FluffyBunny Member Posts: 245 ■■■■■■□□□□Passed with an 820. That really was a different outcome from what I'd expected!
I went into the exam just for fun and put in about 24 hours of preparation, spread across 1.5 months. The exam went alright, though I expected to fail. Anywho, it was fun! Now I'm looking forward to the Linux+ beta this winter, after taking the CFR-310 beta two weeks ago.

jamsub Registered Users Posts: 3 ■□□□□□□□□□Cut 711/750. Didn't study and I'm pretty sure I never touched BurpSuite before except installing it.
Will retake after the book comes out so I have something to focus my work on. -
stonesthrow Registered Users Posts: 1 ■□□□□□□□□□Thought I'd better throw in since this forum has been a consistently reliable source of information. Passed with a 770, just looked over the objectives.
Result renewed network+ and security+. I think given the relative integrity of members here that you'll hear more from those that didn't quite make it this time than anywhere else online. That will probably still be lower proportionally to those that passed as few people like to publicly admit a stumble until they've addressed it.
Thanks for the info. If I had to make any recommendations going forward - build a VM lab and try every tool on the objectives. We were told what would be in the exam so it made sense to get the best hands on if we weren't familiar. Plenty of '**** sheets' for the larger tools, like nmap but that should be a given since it is everyone's go to tool before netcat. Same goes for sockets in Python. Georgina's protesting book is a good study tool.
Also read the CySA study guide as the frameworks crossover, in terms of understanding policy, standards, procedures and guidelines.
Not an exam you can cram for without hands on experience to internalize the processes. Definitely looking forward to 8570 putting CEH out of the picture. -
JDMurray Admin Posts: 13,094 AdminI passed with a 775/750. I have no pentesting background and probably did badly on tools, but my programming experience and knowing that a vuln looks like in code must've pulled me through. I'm also sure they must have disqualified a few of the exam items I saw from the scoring.
