OMS cyber security

Apparently Georgia tech started the oms cybersecurity for less then 10k. The first class will be spring 2019. Sounds interesting I just wonder what the admission standards will be compared to the omscs. The curriculum does not seem to include much CS courses(or any at all actually) so I wonder if they will require a CS background for this one.

Personally would doubt they would require a CS degree, but couldn't find any requirements for it. -

UnixGuy Mod Posts: 4,570 ModHonestly this looks hands down best value for the money. Can't beat their reputation. And the subject selection seems fantastic. AND it's cheap. If I ever do a technical cyber security masters this will probably be it

denis92 Member Posts: 67 ■■■□□□□□□□They seem to have posted a FAQ, or at least I didn't see it before, stating that there is a cap on admissions which will scale up with time. For the first semester they are only allowing 250 students to enroll. Might be fairly competitive at first unless you have experience in security.

Since it will likely be quite competitive, I would think that taking the RITx MicroMasters in Cybersecurity through edX might give you a bit of an assist. My reasoning for suggesting this is that it would show the Georgia Tech admissions office that you can learn at the required level, you are familiar with cybersecurity, and it is provided through the same online learning platform so you should be able to navigate around easily. The easiest thing to be in the world is you. My work pays people to get their online masters from GA Tech. I may apply. -
